The inspiration for the design of the Iranian national team's uniform comes from the stained glass windows of the Nasir ol Mulak Mosque in Shiraz. The colorful art on the walls creates a spectacular play of light on the floor of the mosque as the sun's rays pass through them.
These colors and shapes celebrate the country's culture and were therefore chosen to appear on the national team's home uniform.
After choosing the colored windows as the main motif, the general shape of the logo was taken as a recurring motif to create a pattern for the team's shirt that would recall the shapes created on the floor of the mosque by the colored windows.
The pattern created appears in a strip on the front and back and the rest of the shirt was painted white to give the pattern room to stand out.
